Written by Pearce

Christopher Conlon's A Matrix of  Angels has made the final ballot for the 2012 Bram Stoker Awards under the category of Superior Achievement in a Novel, and we couldn't be more pleased! Our congratulations to Chris of course, and if you haven't picked up a copy of this fantastic novel, now would be an excellent time, before your claim to have read it before the awards is passed... street cred, you know.

Below is a link to the full list of nominees, well done everyone!

So many things going on!

First off - Christopher Conlon's A Matrix of Angels is nearing its release date - the book should start hitting virtual shelves late next week. This beautiful novel has been receiving rave advance reviews (check our reviews links to see some of them), and shows Chris' ability to weave as much magic with prose as he does with poetry. Also - there are still a few copies of the limited, numbered signed hardcovers left - remember only 50 were printed, so when they're gone, they're gone.

Then, in mid-late May you should also start seeing Adrienne Jones' newest novel from CGP coming your way - Backbite is the story of RJ Wyatt, who never had much ambition, and certainly no interest in entering the medical field like his brilliant father. But when his father dies, he learns he’s inherited more than the family jewels...

We're also putting the final touches on Tales of Moreauvia, issue 4, which will be coming out mid-May as well. As announced, this will be the final issue of the magazine, but we are working on revamping the Moreauvia website. We're  very excited about the ongoing Moreauvia "project" which we anticipate being a collaborative setting for any author who wants to play and explore. Target date for the relaunch of the site will be late summer/early fall, AND coinciding with that will be the first novel set in the Moreauvia universe, Insurrection, by Byron Starr.

Also, ebooks, ebooks, ebooks. You may have noticed the separated menu for ebooks and new titles Midnight on Mourn Street, Strange Angel and Gypsies Stole My Tequila. You'll be seeing some new ebook titles up there soon - we're currently negotiating with some of our favourite authors who have books out in print, but whose publishers for whatever reason don't the time or facilities to put these books out for Kindle or Nook or your e-reader of choice. (If you're such an author, and you feel like your book would be in good company with what we do, please feel free to contact us through the contact form.)

As you know, you can follow CGP on Facebook and Twitter, and we'll be adding links to our authors' social media pages where appropriate, in their bios over the next little while (links on the right).

Finally, times are tough and weird for a lot of folks - we recognize this, and are particularly cognizant of budget crunches for libraries. We have been contacted by a few libraries for donations, and are willing to donate books to public libraries when we can. If your library is feeling the pinch, please encourage them to contact us through our contact form. Also, please encourage your library to order copies of our books if you'd like to see them on the shelf. All of our books are available through Ingram Distribution, with which most libraries have an account.

Read an eBook week! PDF Print E-mail

Hey kids, March 6-13 2011 is "Read an eBook Week!"

In the interests of Internet nostalgia - here's some banners we did a few years ago for the first Read an eBook week - this was before kindles and epubs, by the by...

And the "official" banner...

Yeah, things have come a ways - I think the book has been declared dead at least six or seven times since then...

But hey, to celebrate, why don't you go buy some ebooks? All of CGP's titles that are available in e-format are on sales for this week at Smashwords - use coupon code RAE25 on checkout...

Tales of Moreauvia news PDF Print E-mail

Happy Holidays!

As the battle for getting the Moreauvia.com domain back in action seems to be never-ending, I'll be posting news about the magazine here until further notice.  I've redirected the link in the sidebar to point to this article so that any updates can be accessible if this article gets bumped off the main page.

That said - the most urgent news is that Tales of Moreauvia #3 has shipped. If you have a North American subscription or are expecting a contributor copy and have not yet received your copie(s) please let me know via the contact form on this site.  European orders/authors, if you have not received yours by new years, please let me know the same way.

Contracts for issue 4 were supposed to be out by now of course and my apologies - I expect to send them out shortly after new years.

Some errata that didn't make it into issue 3 before it printed:

Paul Kane's story is also included in the forthcoming Adventures of Dalton Quayle from Mundania Press

And for no good reason, Bobbie Metevier's name is not on the front cover with all the other author's who gracefully allowed us use of their work, and were so patient with delays.

For further info about obtaining the magazine, please contact us through the contact form on this site.

Also, important to note - as was originally said on the old website - issue 4 was and is the last planned print issue of the magazine.  We are not accepting submissions for any further issues!

When we finally regain the domain, we plan to restructure the website with expanded wiki capabilities, focussing on a shared world setting in which authors will be invited to write - but general historical fiction will not be accepted.  More news on that as it comes.
