Pete S Allen is a publisher and editor based on the west coast of Canada. For 23 years, he has steered Creative Guy Publishing (CGP), an independent press dedicated to putting out weird, satirical, and genre-defying fiction that traditional publishers routinely pass on.
Pete was an early adopter of digital publishing, experimenting with e-books and audiobooks long before they became industry standards, alongside producing physical chapbooks. His work in the indie scene began in the early days of the web, running the literary magazine The Swamp and the original Amityville House of Pancakes humorous genre webzine. That digital sandbox eventually transitioned into print, with Pete serving as the editor for the Amityville House of Pancakes omnibus book series.
While much of his work is solitary, Pete occasionally proves he can play well with others. He teamed up with author Johnny Shaw to co-edit Blood & Tacos, a quarterly magazine celebrating and parodying over-the-top men's adventure paperbacks. He also collaborated closely with creator Byron Starr to build the shared world of Moreauvia, a project that resulted in four issues of Tales of Moreauvia—a print magazine focused on fiction set within that world, as well as broader alternate history and steampunk stories.
From his home in Western Canada, Pete continues to run CGP, providing a home for long-form novellas, short fiction, and books that are just a little too strange for the mainstream.
